Education: I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Martin Luther College.
Hobbies and Interests: I really love the outdoors. Some of those activities include rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, running, and really anything outdoors. I also enjoy playing board/card games with my husband and friends. Along with watching a movie or show when not outside!
What you like most about being a teacher: seeing children learn who God is and letting their light shine to all. While also enjoying how creative those little minds can be!
Your teaching philosophy: I believe that each student is a unique child created by God himself to be that unique individual. In my teaching philosophy, I have learned from various experiences that children learn most through active play. Through active play, children will learn things such as social-emotional development, cognitive and physical development, and much more! Different hands-on areas/centers in my classroom would include: daily Bible time, circle time, sensory tables, music, reading, math, science, etc. Through these play-based activities and during every other part of the day, each child will be loved, supported, and encouraged by the other classroom staff and me as they learn in their own unique ways God blessed them with. There will also be a daily schedule to have as a guide for the year to provide children with routine and structure.
